WOUPSA Meetings---every Wednesday at 12noon in the Santiam Room of the Werner University Center.

The Western Oregon University Psychology Student Association is a student club which was formed by combining Psi Chi Chapter Honor Society and the local Psychology Club.  By doing this we have hoped to form a more cohesive group of individual psychology students helping each other to progress through the curriculum to that final goal of graduation and if possible, with honors.
There are no requirements to becoming a member of this club.  If you wish to attend the meetings and/or be added to the mailing list, please feel free to join us in the Santiam Room in the Werner University Center every Wednesday at Noon during the regular academic year.

To be a member of Psi Chi, the National Honorary Society in Psychology,  requirements include: 1) Top third GPA of your class, 2) Have taken at least 15 credit hours of Psychology, 3) Received a B average GPA in those Psychology courses, 4) Have maintained high standards.

The first, option is Psy 407 Positive Psychology offered by Dr. Eric Cooley in London, England during the month long 2010 London Summer Program of the Cooperative Center for Study Abroad. Contact Dr. Cooley for details at cooleye@wou.edu. The enrollment deadline for this class is February 26, 2010.

The second option is two courses offered by Dr. Victor Savicki in Rosario, Argentina offered in Fall Term 2010. This is a three month long study abroad with a variety of other non-psychology courses available to round out a full academic schedule. The psychology courses are Psy 328 Culture and Mental Health in Argentina, and Psy 448 Cross-cultural Industrial/Organizational Psychology. See the course web site for further details http://www.wou.edu/~savickv/rosario/ or contact Dr. Savicki directly at savickv@wou.edu for more information.

If you have thought about studying abroad, either of these options is a great opportunity to expand your understanding of psychology while taking advantage of a cross-cultural experience.
