“Do Something Award” Grant
Grant money given to young adults to develop and implement programs to help their community. I created the H.O.P.E. Program. A daytime program for middle school youth suspended from public school due to severe behavioral problems. Program promoted skills building, anger management, problem solving, life skills, tutoring, and a final goal of full-time re-admittance to public school. My program working with youth in the Albany, Oregon under this grant had a 100% success rate.
