Chemistry
About the Program
Chemistry
is the study of matter, the material
of the universe and its changes.
A knowledge of chemical principles
provides the groundwork for the
intellectual consideration of
the effect of chemistry on society.
Western's chemistry program is
designed to prepare students for
careers as laboratory chemists
or forensic chemists, for graduate
study in pure or applied chemistry,
or as a core for pre-professional
training for careers in the health
sciences and chemical education.
Combining a chemistry major with
an appropriate minor prepares
students for careers in fields
such as biochemistry, oceanography,
toxicology and in environmental
and atmospheric science.
