• A score of a 2 on either AB, BC or AB subscore on BC meets the prerequisite for MTH251
• A score of a 3 on AB or AB subscore on BC earns credit for MTH251
• A score of a 4 or a 5 on AB or AB subscore on BC earns credit for MTH251 and MTH252
• A score of a 3 on BC earns credit for MTH251 and MTH252
• A score of a 4 or a 5 on BC earns credit for MTH251, MTH252 and MTH253

• A score of 4 - 5 earns credit for MTH243

SAT/ACT PLACEMENT GUIDE

The Mathematics Department at WOU uses SAT/ACT-Math scores to make an initial placement recommendation for new students. Please take a look at the table below to determine where your SAT or ACT score will place you.

*The use of the SAT/ACT-Math score is intended as an initial placement guide and will be accurate for a majority of students. Those wishing to enter a mathematics course at a higher level must take the computerized COMPASS Mathematics Placement Exam to demonstrate readiness for a higher level class.
