Humanities Division Scholarship Applications 2013-2014
Link to: R.S. Baker Memorial Scholarship In memory of long-time English/Humanities faculty member R.S. Baker, Dr. Dennis Eddings, emeritus Professor of English at Western Oregon University, has contributed funds for a scholarship. [Amount of scholarship may vary from year to year but, last year, one $1000 scholarship was awarded.] The funds will be distributed in three payments for Fall, Winter, and Spring terms, contingent on full-time enrollment status as a major in any Humanities field at WOU. The duration of the scholarship is normally one academic year. Provided that a recipient has made acceptable progress toward his or her degree, a scholarship may be awarded for a total of four (4) successive years; re-application is necessary. Failure of the student to remain in good academic standing or to make satisfactory progress toward a degree may result in withdrawal of the scholarship.
Jane Berry-Eddings Scholarship in Communication Studies Dr. Dennis Eddings and Ms. Jane Berry-Eddings have contributed funds to support undergraduates majoring in Communication Studies at WOU. [Amount of scholarship may vary from year to year but, last year, two (2) $1000 scholarships were awarded.] The funds will be distributed in three payments for Fall, Winter, and Spring terms, contingent on full-time enrollment status as a major in Communication Studies at WOU.
David and Dennis Eddings Scholarship in Literature and Writing Dr. Dennis Eddings, emeritus Professor of English at Western Oregon University, has contributed funds to support undergraduates in Literature, Writing, and Language Arts at WOU. Students who will be sophomores or higher (in 2013-14) are eligible. [Amount of scholarship may vary from year to year but, last year, four (4) $1000 scholarships were available.] The funds will be distributed in three payments for Fall, Winter, and Spring terms, contingent on full-time enrollment status as an English or Language Arts major at WOU.
