Special Features of a Symbol System
Central Symbol: the symbol in a symbol system in relation to which all others derive their significance.
Central Story: the story in which the meaning of the central symbol is most clearly given.
Central Rite: the ritual that is the chief means of access through that central symbol to the “ultimate reality.”
