The Humanities Belong to Everyone The Humanities are our cultural and intellectual heritage - the sum of human experience, thought, and expression. They give us knowledge about the past, insight about the present, and wisdom for the future. They teach us about others and help us to know ourselves

Mission Humanities majors and minors explore that unique human creation, language—not only for communication but also in culture, literary art, and philosophical and religious thought.

 

Learning outcomes

  1. Acquire knowledge based on a combination of interests and goals not available in a single department.
  2. Develop the creativity, critical thinking, written, and oral skills necessary to maximize individual and professional development.
  3. Make connections across disciplines and cultures.
