Laurel ScholarshipThe theatre department at Western Oregon University offers up to five Laurel Scholarships to incoming freshman or transfer students each year. These scholarships are $1,000 recurring gifts for up to four years.
Laurel Scholarships in theatre are only offered to students enrolled as theatre majors. A minimum GPA of 3.00 is required to earn and maintain the scholarship.
Actors interested in applying for a Laurel Scholarship will be asked to prepare a short resume and present an audition consisting of two contrasting monologues (not to exceed three minutes total time). The audition will be followed by a short interview.
Technical Theatre, Design, Stage Management and Theatre Generalists will be asked to prepare a short resume and provide any supporting materials they may have in their particular area of emphasis. A 10 – 15 minute interview will be conducted with the candidate.
