As a Singer/Songwriter Sara Morris started at a very young age; she wrote her first song in 5th grade. In the beginning it was an outlet for her “preteen angst,” as well as a way too impress her friends. From that precocious beginning, song writing became a full time obsession. Her goal was to write songs someone her age would hear and connect to instantly. With song content so accessible, she can reach a large audiences and every person can find their own story in the words and music.
Although Sara began writing in 5th grade, it was the move to the Vancouver School of Arts and Academics that caused Sara’s song writing to blossom. She studied music in this school from sixth to twelfth grade. This school brought Sara in touch with many influential teachers and opportunities, such as Dinner Theater productions in which she performed as a "singing waitress." This was the point where Sara realized how much she adored live performances. This is also where she discovered her love of big band and jazz music.
