HayleyGlickfeld Bachelor of Music in Contemporary Music, Minor in Dance Vocal Performance Senior
Hayley Glickfeld made her debut as an opera director in April 2007, bringing PDQ Bach's The Stoned Guest to Western Oregon University (WOU). During summer 2007, she served stage management internships on both Seattle Opera’s production of The Flying Dutchman and on Portland Opera's Carmen. She assistant directed WOU's fall 2006 opera productions of A Hand of Bridge and The Old Maid and the Thief. An active dancer, Hayley choreographed "Playground of the Seasons" and "Tapestry" for WOU dance concerts, in addition to serving as dance captain for the 2006 production of West Side Story. She has performed in numerous ballets, starred as Donna Ribalda in The Stoned Guest, produced two shared song recitals, soloed with WOU's Early Music Consort, Concert Choir, and with the symphony as a winner of the concerto competition. Hayley is proud to be an original member of Wheezey's Wacky WOUsicians' Wesidence (8veU) - the coveted residence of WOU music majors, founded by violinist Catheryn (Keeley) Kennedy. Hayley's upcoming performances include a solo song recital in March, Carmen and Don Jose in late spring, and dancing in a new collaboration by choreographer Sharon Oberst and composer Joseph Harchanko in the WOU 2008 Spring Dance Concert in May.
