Amy Beth Chisholm
Instructor of Voice
Amy Beth Chisholm, soprano, is delighted to have joined the faculty at Western Oregon University. Ms. Chisholm studied voice with Prof. Esther England at The University of Montana, where she earned a B.M. in Vocal Performance. She continued on to The University of Arizona, where she attained her Master of Music degree under the tutelage of Prof. Faye Robinson.
Ms. Chisholm's varied performance career includes work in opera, oratorio, musical theatre, jazz, and vaudeville as well as countless solo and choral appearances. Highlights include portraying Adele in Die Fledermaus, Johanna in Sweeney Todd, and Lisette in La Rondine; appearing as a soloist for performances of oratorios by Bach and Mozart; taking first prize at the Arizona division of the prestigious National Association of Teachers of Singing (NATS) Artist Awards Competition in 2004; and singing in some of the great churches and concert houses of Europe. Ms. Chisholm has also had the honor of performing with groups such as The Kronos Quartet, Festival Chorale Oregon, The Tucson Symphony Orchestra, The Southern Arizona Symphony Orchestra, and The Tucson Chamber Artists.
Ms. Chisholm's teaching experience includes posts at Pima Community College, The PRIME School of Music, and The Tucson Academy of Leadership and Arts, all of Tucson, Arizona. She is a member of NATS and is pleased to now call Oregon "home."
