Preserving, sustaining and interpreting Professor Gentle’s 1880’s Monmouth home, gardens and educational legacy through gifts of time and resources.

The Friends of Gentle House efforts enhance the Gentle House as a community landmark. The House is filled with a rich history dating from the late 1800’s through the time it was gifted to the University in the 1980s. A site for “genteel entertaining” the Friends are critical to the upkeep of the gardens – laid out in the early 20th century – and the interior of the original home and museum it houses. Community contributions of time and treasurer continue this rich tradition.
