Welcome a new total toning class at WOU! Class will emphasize toning, strengthening, stretching, upper-body free weights and relaxation! Certified instructor. Presented by the Division of Extended Programs.

Identification cards will be made for students who have not yet received their cards. The first card is free for incoming students. (Replacement cards are issued for $10.00.)

Valsetz Residential Service Center

If you live on-campus and plan on working out in the residence hall fitness center this school year, you have to go through an orientation to use the facility. This Residence Hall Student Only fitness center features treadmills, EFX crosstrainers, bicycles, and a limited amount of free weights. Make sure you come to the fitness center this week to go through a short 15 minute orientation. Sponsored by University Residences.

bullet Earth Sciences Field Trip
9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Meet on Jackson Avenue, next to Natural Sciences Building

Faculty from the Earth Sciences Program is sponsoring a field excursion for new students to the central Oregon Coast. The trip will involve outdoor adventure with a focus on scenic and geologic features associated with western Oregon including Kings Valley, Mary’s Peak, Yaquina Head and South Beach. Bring a lunch, snacks, camera, water bottle, sturdy hiking shoes or other walking shoes, a wind breaker, some cash for cold drinks and pit stops along the way. $3.00 to attend. Sign up at the New Student Week Information Booth at the WUC through Thursday.

You may have learned by now that university life can be very stressful. This session will equip you with specific techniques to help you relax while experiencing the benefits first-hand. This session was also available Tuesday, 3 to 4 p.m., in the Willamette Room, and Thursday, 2 to 3 p.m., in the Santiam Room.

Discover how to log onto the campus network, access applications such as Netscape, and use your e-mail account. This session was also available Monday, 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and Wednesday, 2 to 3 p.m., same location.

Nervous about your new roommate? Wondering how to keep relationships from high school? The Health and Counseling Center Staff can help you adjust to a new living environment, new roommate and new life. This session was also available Monday, 10:30 to 11:30 a.m., in the Willamette Room.

Study Abroad 101, Santiam Room
Come find out how to study abroad while earning WOU credit. More than 15 countries participate and WOU financial aid may be available. This session was also available Wednesday, 10 to 11 a.m., in the Columbia Room.

4 to 7 p.m.
Main Street Park

Venture into downtown Monmouth to Main Street Park and be welcomed to the city by WOU, local businesses, and the community of Monmouth. This exciting event includes a free BBQ, interactive inflatable games, a scavenger hunt, booths featuring local businesses, music, and prizes! Sponsored by WOU University Residences, The Monmouth Business Association, and The City of Monmouth.

Come to WOU’s first ever “Dance in the Park”. With a DJ provided by Ultimate Entertainment, this dance located in downtown Monmouth is sure to be one of the best dances of the year! Don’t miss your chance to meet new and returning students and win great prizes! Sponsored by University Residences.
