 Creative Arts Day
Saturday, November 15, 2003
Experience the Arts at WOU
Creative Arts Day at Western Oregon University is intended for high school juniors and seniors as well as transfer students who have a strong interest in the visual and performing arts. Each student has the opportunity to attend two master classes in the disciplines of art, dance, music, or theatre. All master classes are taught by Western Oregon faculty from the Division of Creative Arts.

Representatives from the Office of Admissions will also be available throughout the program to answer your questions.
As part of participating in Creative Arts Day, you will receive two FREE tickets to the Laramie Project! The Laramie Project was created by Moises Kaufman and The Tectonic Theatre Project. In November 1998, ten New Yorkers set out for Laramie, Wyoming to explore the small western town’s loss of innocence following the 1998 hate murder of college student Matthew Shepard.

After interviewing 200 residents, they created a deeply moving play about bigotry and tolerance, fear and courage, hate and hope. Western Oregon’s staging is directed by Dr. Michael Phillips and appears in Rice Auditorium November 13, 14, 15 and 20, 21, and 22.

To purchase additional tickets, or for more information about the production, contact the Rice Auditorium Box Office at 503-838-8462.
To RSVP and join us, you can download an acrobat brochure and registration form to print and mail, call us at 877-877-1593 (ext. 1) or 503-838-8211 (V/TTY), or fill out the online registration form. (Registration closes at 5 p.m . on Monday, November 10.) As we will be walking around campus, we do recommend that you prepare for inclement weather and wear comfortable shoes.

If you cannot attend Creative Arts Day, consider schedule an individual campus visit. We invite you to spend a day getting to know WOU’s campus and community! By visiting us, you’ll get an insider’s view of campus life. Tours are given by Western Oregon’s Student Advocates and last one hour. Tours leave from the Admissions Office at 10 a.m., 1:30 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. during the regular academic year and at 1:30 p.m. only during winter, spring and summer breaks.
