Don Ellingson is our meteorologist. He has a BS in mathematics from Lewis and Clark College, and a MS in geology-geography-education from Western Oregon University. He is a retired Air Force weather officer: a certified weather forecaster in East Asia and West Europe, an academic instructor in the USAF’s pilot training program, a weather unit commander, and the Air Weather Service’s International Affairs Officer and representative to the NATO Weather Committee. After retirement he worked in the Mid-Willamette Valley as a substitute teacher and then “graduated” to working as an adjunct instructor at WOU. He has taught meteorology, astronomy, oceanography, Earth system science, physics labs, and honors earth and physical science. He likes math and science and continues to follow international affairs.
