Many service providers are familiar with
and accustomed to providing sign language interpreters and notetakers for
Deaf consumers. However, much confusion exists about appropriate services to
provide to hard of hearing consumers. In fact, both service provider and
consumer may lack familiarity with ALDs, and thus miss out on the great
benefit they provide in lecture and other group listening situations.
This presentation was developed to
provide an overview of assistive listening devices and their use in
