Please be sure to make your hotel reservations by March 3, 2003! The MarQueen and Inn at Queen Anne are smaller hotels and will fill up quickly! When making reservations at any of these ask for Western Symposium on Rehabilitation & Deafness. Please be sure to make accommodation requests (for example a TTY and flashing fire alarms or alarm clock) when you register.

The Seattle Center Monorail operates seven (7) days per week. The normal operating hours are:
• Monday through Friday, 7:30 A.M.–11:00 P.M.
• Saturday and Sunday, 9:00 A.M.–11:00 P.M.

Trains depart every ten minutes. However, train departure frequency can be increased to every
four (4) minutes when both trains are utilized.

Standard Monorail Fares
Adults: $3.00 per round trip
Children, Seniors, Disabled: $1.50 per round trip

Connecting the Heart of Downtown and the Seattle Center
The Seattle Center Monorail conveniently links the heart of downtown and the Seattle Center, providing fast, efficient, and unique transportation for any group. The downtown Seattle Monorail station is located at 5th Avenue and Pine Street, on the third floor of Westlake Mall, convenient to all downtown hotels, eateries, and shopping, and the waterfront.The Seattle Center Monorail station is located in Seattle’s premier urban park and attractions venue. Home to the Space Needle, Key Arena, and a variety of art and theatre venues, the Seattle Center grounds contain some of Seattle’s biggest attractions!

Seattle Center Information

The conference will be held in the Seattle Center Northwest Rooms (Click #2 on the map) at the corner of 1st and Republican streets (Don't be fooled! Transportation from the SeaTac International Airport

The airport is approximately 15 miles from downtown Seattle.

Taxi

Taxi cabs and limousines meet travelers on the third floor of the Parking Garage. To arrange for a taxi or limo, use one of the curbside phones, Information Boards, or visit the Ground Transportation Center, located on the third floor of the Parking Garage. Cab fares are on a meter, and generally run between $30-$35 from the airport to downtown.

SeaTac Airport has consolidated most ground transportation operations in one central location on the 3rd floor of the parking garage. To use our service from the airport, simply follow the many red and black signs directing you to ground transportation. Once in the parking garage, proceed to our Shuttle Express booth by following the ground transportation check-in signs to the center of the ground transportation area. $21.00 for 1 person (rates are reduced for groups). Please make a reservation for pick-up either by filling out the Online Reservation form (you will receive instant confirmation) or by calling the reservation line at 425-981-7000.

Metro Bus

Board Metro Rt #194 outside door number 6, near Baggage Carousel #1 on the Baggage Claim (lower) level. Note that both northbound and southbound buses board here, so be sure to verify with the driver that the bus you are boarding is heading into Seattle. Depart the bus at Westlake Station in the bus tunnel, and proceed up to the mezzanine level where you can take the stairs or elevator to the Seattle Center Monorail. Bus service is also available for the hotels listed above. Call the hotel for information on the bus routes.
