SPECIAL PROGRAM FEATURES

SPECIALTY WORKSHOPS

We are pleased to provide three concurrent all-day specialty workshops the first day of our 2001 conference. These workshops will provide conference attendees a foundation of understanding in one of three areas: 1) serving individuals who are hard of hearing, 2) serving individuals who are deaf-blind, and 3) working with Native American cultural minorities within the Deaf community. These workshops will run from 10:00 to 6:00 Wednesday, April 4. Conference attendees should mark their first and second preference on the registration form indicating which one of the three you plan to attend.

REUNION for WOU Rehabilitation Counseling Program

Graduates and faculty of the Master's degree program in Rehabilitation Counseling at Western Oregon University (also known as Western Oregon State College and Oregon College of Education) are gathering to reunite and celebrate the 25th anniversary of the first Rehabilitation Counselor Education program graduating class. This "no-host" reunion will give past graduates and faculty a chance to catch-up and reconnect. If you are a graduate or faculty member from the MS degree Rehabilitation Counseling: Deafness, General Rehabilitation Counseling program or of the summer, four-week Rehabilitation Counseling with Deaf and Hard of Hearing Adults program, plan to meet with us on Thursday April 5th, 4:30 to 6:30 PM. PLEASE BE SURE TO MARK ON THE REGISTRATION FORM THAT YOU PLAN TO ATTEND!

CONTINUING EDUCATION UNITS

Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf CMP and ACET continuing education units are pending through the Region X IEC, an approved RID CEU sponsor. In addition, Western Washington University will offer verification of attendance, which may be used to apply for Certified Rehabilitation Counselor and other program credits. Ask at the Conference Registration/Information Desk for more information.

EXHIBITORS

NOTE: A limited amount of exhibitor space, focusing on technology, will be available. In addition, a limited number of unattended tables will be available for job announcements, program brochures, and other advertising relevant to programs and services in the Northwest.
