Deadlines are approaching for the Partners in the Process Region X Symposium on Rehabilitation and Deafness. The guaranteed hotel rate of $105 plus tax (single/double) expires after March 12, 1999. Also, conference registration goes up from $125 to $150 after March 12. Exhibitors deadline is March 19.
Join us for a great line-up in Seattle, April 21-23. Keynote speakers include Cynthia King of Gallaudet University and David Bolnick of Microsoft, and Jane Jarrow and Jeanne Kincaid, leaders in disability rights advocacy. Conference sessions include substance abuse counseling for individuals who are deaf, providing services to clients who are hard of hearing, and setting up communication environments for individuals who are deafblind. In addition to the 18 breakout sessions and 4 keynote presentations, we will have a panel discussion with representatives from each state in the region on the reauthorization of the Rehabilitation Act (the Workforce Investment Act) focusing on its implications for providing services in both higher education and vocational rehabilitation.
For more information about the conference, including hotel, directions, program highlights, and registration forms, go to http://www.wou.edu/nwoc under Conference Info, or contact Brenda Gouveia at 510-659-6268 (v/tty) with conference registration questions. PAH! I'M IN COLLEGE…NOW WHAT?
Presented in sign language with voice overs and open captioning, this video is useful in Deaf Student orientations to encourage discussion on a variety of topics Disability Services providers must introduce to new students, such as how to request services, policy issues, and the appropriate use of interpreters. It introduces the topics in a general way, leaving room for individual institutions to tailor the discussions to suit their own needs. This 30-minute video is available for $20.00 (including shipping and handling) from the PEPNet Resource Center. For more information on ordering or to view the script of the captions, see http://www.wou.edu/nwoc under 'Training Materials', or contact email@example.com.

E-MAIL NOTIFICATION LIST
This is a new service of the Northwest Outreach Center. In an effort to reach interested parties in the Northwest as quickly as possible with upcoming events, I have developed this e-mail notification list. Future notices will be similar to this, with links to more detailed info. If you do not have internet access, contact Cheryl Davis for further information on the topic in which you are interested. The notices will NEVER include an attachment. Notices will be sent about once a month, more or less often as the need arises. If you wish to continue to receive these notices, do nothing. If you would like to be removed from this list, notify Cheryl Davis and you will be removed immediately. Please pass this info on to other interested parties. They will need to contact Cheryl Davis to sign up to receive the info automatically. Notices will also be posted to the NWOC website at http://www.wou.edu/nwoc under Mailing List.
