WRIEC - Meet the Staff
WRIEC at ECC
Pauline Annarino M.S,, NAD V, GPC,
is the Project Director of the WRIEC and is housed at El Camino College. Ms. Annarino, holds an M.S. in Rehabilitation Counseling from the University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee, and has served as the RSA Region IX RITC Project Director from 1999-2005. Prior to that time, Pauline served as the Director of the Health Care Interpreting Program at St. Mary's Junior College (currently St. Catherine University) (1978-1885), the Director of Program Development at the Greater Los Angeles Council on Deafness (1985- 1999) and as an adjunct interpreter educator. She was a key participant in the design of several interpreter assessments including the NAD Sign Language Interpreter Assessment. Today, Pauline also serves on a number of stakeholder non-profit advisory boards including LIFESIGNS interpreter referral agency and the California Home for the Adult Deaf. In her other professional life, Pauline is an active member of the grants community, serving on the boards of Grant Professional's Certification Institute and the Grant Professionals Association.
CM Hall, Ed.M., NIC Advanced, EIPA Ed K:12
works for the WRIEC from the Western Oregon University post and holds a bachelor's in the ASL/English Interpreting program from WOU. Previously, she completed WOU's one year interpreter training program (1992-93). She has worked in K-12 and various post-secondary environments as a staff interpreter and has considerable experience with platform and Deaf-Blind interpreting. In the fall of 2011, CM began a second Master's in NonProfit Management from Portland State University.
CM teaches the Deaf-Blind Interpreting course in WOU's interpreting program and coordinates the academic service-learning trip training students to work as Support Service Providers with Deaf-Blind adults for the annual Deaf-Blind Retreat in Seabeck, Washington. Among her professional responsibilities, she actively contributes to the National Task Force on Deaf-Blind Interpreting, and trains educational interpreters on Guam and Saipan who have limited access to professional development opportunities.
Currently, CM is the secretary for the Deaf-Blind RID Member Section, and advises the American Association of the Deaf-Blind on fundraising development. CM is the chair of BLeGIT, the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender Member Section of RID and is serving in her second term as a member of RID's national Diversity Council. She is also the president of Oregon RID. CM lives in Portland, Oregon with her wife Kendra and their two pups, Riley and Lucy.
