Overview
The Division of Health and Physical Education (HPE) delivers programs and courses that meet the needs of multiple audiences across campus. Our undergraduate degree programs prepare professionals in the fields of school health education, physical education teacher education, community health education, and exercise science. We also offer minor areas of study in Health Education, Physical Education, and Sport Leadership that support and enhance the academic preparation of students from across campus. In fact, Health Education is the third most often selected minor by WOU students. HPE serves all WOU students through delivery of courses in the Liberal Arts Core Curriculum (LACC). At the graduate level, we offer courses that support initial teacher licensure as well as a health specialty area within the Master of Science in Education degree program.
