Peggy Pedersen - Bio


Peggy Pedersen, chair of the Division of Health and Physical Education, joined the WOU faculty in 2004 and teaches courses in health pedagogy, theory and practice, and human sexuality. After earning her Ph.D. in Public Health from Oregon State University , she joined the faculty at Northern Illinois University and served as the director of Health Education. In 2000, Peggy returned to Oregon to accept a position as assistant professor of Public Health and coordinator of the Oregon Master of Public Health (OMPH) program. During her time as coordinator of the OMPH, she led a successful accreditation process including a self-study and site visit by the Council for Public Health Education. Peggy's most recent research focuses on weight bias and stigma in school and health care settings.
