I am a Kenyan. I received my early education in Kenya and a Bachelor's degree in Education and Literature at Makerere University in Uganda. I taught Kabare Girls High School for 5 years and was elevated to the position of a principal in the same school. I was a principal of Kabare Girls High School for 10 years before I retired to come to United States for my graduate work in education. I received a Masters of Arts in Teaching degree at Lewis and Clark College, Portland, OR. and later a Doctorate in Education degree at the Portland State University.
I am intrigued by the work of Paulo Freire and I am interested in multicultural education discourse and how it can enable any disfranchised student to obtain critical consciousness.
