Collaborative Programs

The College of Education has a long history of partnership with K-12 school districts in Oregon and the Educational Service Districts that serve them. We facilitate  continuing education opportunities for district faculty and staff that range from Master of Arts in Teaching initial licensure programs for Instructional Assistants to Specializations and Endorsements for teachers. We have creatively designed affordable programs that accommodate the needs of districts and their employees, offering online, hybrid, and on-site courses within the district.

We have several current collaborations developing educator work forces in:

Hillsboro School District

  • Dual Language Specialization

Salem-Keizer School District

  • Bi-literacy with Reading Endorsement
  • ESOL/Bilingual Endorsement
  • Special Education Master’s in Education with Initial Licensure

Woodburn School District

  • ESOL/Bilingual Endorsement
  • Reading Endorsement

Previous collaborations have included Central SD, Corvallis SD, Astoria SD, Beaverton SD and many others. If you would like to discuss the development of a district, or educational service district, cohort in an initial licensure or specialization/endorsement with the College of Education, please contact us at partnerships@wou.edu.
