The Center for Academic Innovation is proud to host the Community Lecture Series. The lectures provide an excellent opportunity for community members to engage with WOU faculty and explore informational topics related to current areas of research and expertise. These monthly presentations are free and open to the public.

    Jon and Susan are local astronomers recently featured in the Itemizer Observer.Opens in new window They built their house around an astronomical observatory here in Polk County and have been planning for the upcoming eclipse for many years. Jon is a Technology Fellow and Chief Scientist at HP, and has also worked at the Mauna Kea Observatories in Hawaii. He has spent many years doing astro photography.

    CAI staff will be at the Western Oregon Learning Fun (WOLF) Zone — come by and say hi, check out student research projects, and pick up some WOU goodies!

    Join us! Everyone in the community is invited to attend.


    Location: Instructional Technology Center, Room 205

    Parking: Free on-campus parking is available in Lot B.
