Visit Western Oregon University

We welcome both individual and group visits on our campus throughout the calendar year. The arrow tabs on the lefthand menu include a wide variety of information and resources for organizing a WOU campus visit that fits your needs. Whether you are a prospective WOU student or a counselor/teacher interested in planning a visit for a group of students, we look forward to hosting you on our campus!

Weekday Tour Information

  • From January 8-March 16, WOU will offer a 10:00 a.m. tour that lasts 60 minutes and does not include the residence halls, as well as two 90-minute tours at 1:30 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. that both include the residence halls. This schedule will resume again from April 2-June 8.
  • During Finals Week (March 19-23), we will offer tours at 10:00 a.m., 1:30 p.m., and 2:30 p.m. All tours will last 60 minutes and will not include the residence halls.
  • Over Spring Break (March 26-30), we will offer 90-minute tours at 10:00 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. that include the residence halls. The 2:30 p.m. tour will not be offered during these dates.
  • These tours are offered Monday through Friday only. For Saturday options, click on the “Saturday Tours” or “Campus Visit Programs” tabs to the left.
  • All of our scheduled tours are conducted on a drop-in basis – no reservation needed! However, you may confirm your visit ahead of time using this Individual Visit Request FormWe ask that you submit this form at least 2-3 weeks before your visit if you’d like to meet with any of our faculty or staff members.
  • If you are bringing a group of eight or more people, please refer to the “Group Campus Visits” tab to the left.
  • Weekday tours begin and end at the Admissions Office, located in the Academic Programs and Support Center (4th Floor). We recommend parking in Lot D (parking permit required) or on the street (no permit needed).
  • The Admissions Office is not responsible for coordinating appointments/meetings with coaches or staff from the Athletic Department. Students are advised to contact the Athletics Department directly to schedule an appointment with a coach.
  • Tours offered in Spanish or American Sign Language are available upon request. Please email visitcor@wou.edu and allow 2-3 weeks notice to accommodate these requests.
  • Students who visit WOU, apply for admission, and submit their transcript(s) on a Friday can receive an admissions decision before they leave campus. Directions and details regarding our “Instant Wolf” program are available here.
  • Overnight stays in on-campus residence halls can be arranged by contacting horseyt@wou.edu. Other lodging recommendations are available below.
  • Our campus Visitation Coordinator can be reached by phone at 503-838-8227 or email at visitcor@wou.edu. Please note that our Visitation Coordinator is a WOU student and office hours vary due to their class schedule.

Saturday Tour Information

A limited number of Saturday tours are offered during Fall, Winter and Spring Terms. Upcoming dates are as follows:

  • January 13th, 2018
  • January 27th, 2018
  • February 24th, 2018*
  • March 10th, 2018
  • April 7th, 2018
  • April 21st, 2018
  • May 5th, 2018

Saturday tours begin at 11:00am at the Werner University Center Information Desk. Parking is available in Lot H or along Church Street. The tour will last approximately 90 minutes and will include the residence halls.

*This tour will be followed by an optional admissions presentation from 12:30-1:00 p.m.

All of our scheduled tours are conducted on a drop-in basis – no reservation needed! However, we encourage you to confirm your visit ahead of time using this Saturday visit request form.

Appointments with faculty and staff are not available on weekends. If these activities are of interest to you, consider attending one of our Preview Day programs for a more comprehensive visit experience. Preview Days & Campus Visitation Programs

  • Preview Days and other campus visitation programs provide prospective students and their families with a unique opportunity to spend a day on campus and gain a thorough understanding of WOU’s academic programs and student life.
  • When you attend, you will learn about our outstanding academic programs, meet members of the WOU community and discover what opportunities are available to you on our beautiful campus.
    • Take a campus tour with a student ambassador.
    • Enjoy a complimentary lunch served by our nationally recognized dining services.
    • Apply for admission at check-in and receive notification of your status at the end of the program.

Group Visits

Please submit this form if you are a school teacher/counselor or community-based organization staff member and are interested in scheduling a field trip for a group of your students. Please allow at least three weeks to confirm date availability and prepare your agenda. Group tours may be scheduled at any time that works with your travel plans and do not need to align with our regularly scheduled weekday tour times featured on the “Weekday Tours” tab to the left.
