The Western Oregon University grounds crew
is responsible for keeping the campus
clean, safe and aesthetically pleasing
for students, faculty, staff and community
members. That means pruning, weeding,
litter pickup, event setup, sidewalk upkeep,
and many other duties.
Western
Oregon University is home to the giant
sequoia Christmas tree which the physical
plant decorates yearly.
Other
interesting plants on the WOU campus include
a row of Pendulum Sequoia along the north
side of Hamersly Library, a large tulip
tree on the west side of the Cottage and
a pond area in front of the Natural Science
building.
Convict made bricks are a feature item
where the new elevator was installed at
Todd Hall. The Police Memorial was removed
recently and a new seating area will be
installed soon for people to enjoy. New
landscape material will be installed this
Spring to replace storm damage and to
finish renovation projects.
Daffodils add early Spring color to campus.
Watch for the Ornamental Cherry trees
to be blooming soon. |
