Organizing for Tenant Justice!
We are a grassroots community organization dedicated to serving the towns of Monmouth and Independence Oregon. We improve the quality and cost of rental housing through education, organizing tenants, and direct action.
MITU has its headquarters on the campus of Western Oregon University and student activists serve as the primary organizers and leaders. However, MITU is not a division of the university, or simply a service organization for students. We work to organize tenants, lobby elected representatives and confront irresponsible landlords.
Membership is open to all citizens, and we work to advance the intrest of those who pay rent for housing. |
